Hi Everyone,
The Desert Dance Festival committee would love to have your help at the upcoming:
Desert Dance Festival
September 13 & 14, 2008 ~ Saturday - 10:00 am to 10:30 pm & Sunday - 10:00 am to 8:30 pm
Location: S.E.S. Hall. 1375 Lafayette Street , Santa Clara , CA 95050
Below is a list of the positions that we need your help with:
General Admission Box Office Window |
Sell tickets, stamp hands for entry, distribute festival programs. |
Performer Admission Box Office Window |
Check in performers, stamp hands for entry, and distribute festival programs. |
Stage Manager |
Ensure performers are in dressing room 30 minutes prior to performance. Confirm three acts are lined up and ready to go on stage. Collect introduction cards for Announcer and music tapes for Sound Assistant. |
Stage Assistant |
Run tapes to sound person. Help with any needs in the dressing room. Provide information to performers as necessary. |
Runner |
Provide assistance where needed, as directed by Volunteer Coordinator. May replace volunteers who do not report for assigned shift. |
Sound assistant
|
Receive performer tapes from Runner and play tape. Coordinate activities with Video Assistant for continuity. |
Video Assistant
|
Keep the performer dance tapes in order. Match video to performer. Place finished performer video in jacket for delivery. |
Announcer (by audition only)
|
Announcers are chosen on the basis of audition that will take place at the volunteer picnic. Announce performers with provided introduction card. Must dress appropriately for stage appearance. |
We require a two-hour shift minimum commitment for each position. On the day that you volunteer you will receive free admission and a personalized button. If you volunteer for four hours during a single day you receive the above plus five dollars toward the purchase of a meal. Volunteer for at least 4 hours each day and receive an extra bonus gift.

We will provide an orientation at the volunteer picnic, August 10, 2008. You can sign up for your job of choice and receive orientation on the same day. If you cannot attend the picnic, the volunteer coordinator will contact you with instructions. So come and enjoy food and fun courtesy of the DDF Committee.
